On Referencing, Citations & MLA

On this page...

It is very important for you to know that information that you use from outside sources must be cited both IN and AFTER the paper. This means you need to offer a work cited list AND parenthetical (sometimes called in-text) citations. We at ISB use the MLA system which means there are rules for you to follow. Many of them are shown below. Take your time to understand how to do this properly.

A model MLA paper

The pdf document to the right presents a model MLA paper with annotations. It should help you see exactly what you have to do.

However please note, it is not perfect for the EE. Do you know why? Because

  1. no personal identifiers (ie your name) should appear on the EE.

  2. Also the EE needs a title page and contents page
